1. VISIT HERITAGE WOOD TO CHOOSE YOUR TREE OR VISIT THE OFFICE TO OBTAIN DETAILS OF AVAILABLE TREES.

We plant our trees during the winter months using young trees which are around 5 to 6 feet tall. We always have a selection of trees for you to choose from whatever the time of year. The trees are planted in the position where they will remain for life.

If there is a specific tree variety you would like i.e. a whitebeam tree, we can give you a list of all whitebeam trees which are currently available (or any other variety)

2. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO VISIT TO CHOOSE YOUR TREE, WE WILL HAPPILY DO THIS ON YOUR BEHALF

3. NOTE DOWN YOUR 1ST, 2ND & 3RD TREE CHOICE

Each tree is allocated a letter and a number which is on a white plastic tag attached to the tree stake. This tells you the section of trees you are in, the tree variety and the tree number. Please see our map.

Any tree which does not have a plaque beside it, is generally available for sponsorship. We ask you to choose 3 trees in case the tree you choose is waiting to have its plaque put in place.

4. CHECK THAT YOUR TREE CHOICE IS AVAILABLE

By either visiting the office in person, telephoning us during office hours or sending us an email, or by completing our order form.

5. COMPLETE OUR SPONSORS ORDER FORM

This can be done in person at the office where we can help you, by emailing the completed form to us, or by popping it in the post. Alternatively, all details can be taken over the telephone.

6. PAYMENT

Payment can be made in person by card, cheque or cash. By card over the phone. By cheque through the post or by bank transfer. Please ask for our account details.

The cost of all trees is £310.00

The cost of burying ashes is £70.00

7. DECIDE ON YOUR WORDING FOR THE PLAQUE

As a guide the maximum number of characters we can fit on a line is 30. This is letters/ numbers, please do not count spaces. We have a maximum of 6 lines per plaque.

If you have not yet decided on your wording, this is not a problem at all, please let us know. We will pop a “This tree is dedicated” plaque beside your tree to give you time to think. Once you do have your wording you can let us have this either by email, telephone or in person.

8. RECEIVE YOUR CERTIFICATE AND PAPERWORK THROUGH THE POST

As soon as the engraved plaque is in place we will post your certificate of dedication out to you as confirmation.

9. IF REQUIRED, ARRANGE A DATE FOR BURYING ASHES

Ashes may be buried beside your tree any day of the week, at a time to suit you and your family/friends. We ask for 72 hours’ notice so that we may prepare the ground. A hole will be dug and covered over with a wood board. A spade will be left beside the tree for your use and return. Ashes must be buried in a biodegradable container or placed directly into the ground. Ashes may not be scattered.
